School Terms

1. Agreement
These terms apply when a school, academy or other educational organisation ("the School") buys a licence for the Service. The person purchasing confirms they are authorised to bind the School.
2. Licence
On payment we grant the School a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for the licence period to give its pupils and staff access up to the seat limit of the chosen plan, for the School's educational use only. It must not be resold.
3. Fees and renewal
Fees are shown at checkout and charged annually in advance (plus VAT if applicable). The licence renews annually unless cancelled before the renewal date. We will email a reminder before renewal. Fees may change on renewal with at least 30 days' notice.
4. Refunds
You may request a full refund within 14 days of first purchase. After that, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Fair use
Plans include fair-use AI limits per pupil per day. We may apply reasonable limits to protect the Service. Seat limits apply to active pupil accounts joined with the School's code.
6. School responsibilities
The School must keep its code secure, make sure only its own pupils and staff join, give pupils and parents appropriate notice of how data is used, remove pupils who leave, and make sure teacher accounts are held by authorised staff. The School is responsible for its staff's conduct and for supervising pupil use.
6A. Under-13 pupils
The School must make sure it has a lawful basis for providing under-13 accounts, must give pupils and parents appropriate privacy information, must supervise use as appropriate for the age of the pupils, and must respond to safeguarding alerts raised through the Service. The Service is not a substitute for the School's own safeguarding procedures.
7. Pupil data
For school-licensed use, the School is the data controller of its pupils' personal data and we act as its processor under the Data Processing Summary. We process the data only on the School's instructions to provide the Service.
8. Suspension
We may suspend access for non-payment, misuse or breach of these terms, with notice where reasonable.
9. Ending
The School may cancel at any time (access continues to the end of the paid period). On expiry or termination, pupils lose school-funded access, and the School can request export or deletion of its data. We will delete School-linked data within 30 days of a written request or 90 days after the licence ends.
10. Liability
Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our total liability is limited to the fees paid by the School in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. AI-generated content may contain errors and must be reviewed by teachers before being relied on.
